Celebrating God's Goodness – Chapel Sunday
Rt. Rev. Prof. J.O.Y. Mante, PhD
A special celebration of God's goodness graced by the presence of Rt. Rev. Prof. J.O.Y. Mante, PhD.
It is always a joy to be among the people of God, and I count it a special privilege to join Christ Congregation East London on this Chapel Sunday. The theme of today's celebration — Celebrating God's Goodness — is one that resonates deeply with the story of this congregation.
God's goodness is not abstract. It is concrete. It is the fact that you are here — gathered, worshipping, believing — when so many forces conspire to pull people away from faith. It is the growth of this congregation from a small group of believers into a thriving community. It is the children who are being raised in the faith. It is the new members who have found a home here.
I want to challenge this congregation to dream bigger. The PCG has always understood that the church exists not just for those within its walls, but for the community around it. What is Christ Congregation doing for East London? How are you serving your neighbours — people who may never set foot in a Ghanaian church but who need the love of Christ?
Go forward in faith. The God who has brought you this far will not leave you. His goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life, and you shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
